Basic HTML using Notepad, with Blog report

Individual Report

My group member, Ian and I were referring to the exercises that we attended during the lab classes given by Ms. Sha. From the lab exercises, we got to know the ways and methods of coding and creating a HTML page. At the beginning, we were struggling and we were confused about the questions of the assignment. But, we were lucky that we got the guidance and help from Ms. Sha and our friends to get our assignment completed.

We first started the assignment by bravehost.com to create a webhost. After creating an account, we started to use Notepad. From there, we include all the codings using Notepad. Started off by keying in our profile individually, inserting photos and our blog site make me learn and understanding more on how to create and design a HTML page. It was really hard for me as I first thought that IT can be simple and easy.

I faced a couple of problems during the process of doing this assignment. I started the Notepad, typing out the codes which I had copied in the previous two lab classes. Not realising that I left out some codes which were needed, it did not turn out what I wanted when I viewed my blog in bravehost.com. At first, I had difficulties where words appeared and the photo which I uploaded were missing. After trying for few times, asking friends and edditing the codes in my Notepad, I finnally got the complete profile of mine, words and photo appeared in the blog in my webhost.

I had not much problems choosing the webhost as most of my classmates were using bravehost.com which was recommended by Ms. Sha. Uploading the files makes my work turns out messy. During the process of keying in the URL address of my image which I got from my friendster account, my image did not appear when i viewed by blog. Therefore, I used to methods of how Ms. Sha taught of uploading images in a table. At last, the image appeared im my blog. Creating blog was quite easy for me. Although I do not have a blog and I'm not used to blogging, I got to know about it because my sister has been blogging most of her time at home. Logging in to blogger.com, following the instructions, choosing the template for my blog, and finally I did it. Posting a new post is what I'm doing now for this individual report is easy and simple.

As a conclusion, I am glad that I've finally created my own webpage and it turned out well. The mistakes that we've made during the journey of creating the HTML page gave us an unforgettable experience, and I think its good though, at least we know how to create a webpage after knowing to use computers for many years. Through out this semester, I will learn and try out how to design my blog as creative as possible.
